WIC Eligibility Guidelines Determining WIC Eligibility There are four guidelines used to determine if an applicant is eligible to participate in WIC. They are: 2. Residence: The applicant must live in an area served by the WIC local agency. 3. Income: The applicant’s family income must be within the WIC guidelines. 4. Nutritional Need: The applicant must have a health problem (nutritional need) which can be improved with good nutrition An applicant is screened by the WIC staff and must meet all four guidelines to receive WIC services. The screening process is free. If you think that you may be eligible for WIC, call the WIC office nearest you and a staff member will prescreen you over the phone. WIC Income Eligibility Table (Effective from May 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008)
To meet the income eligibility guideline
your gross household income (total income of all household members
before taxes) must fall at or below the values in the table shown
above. If you all ready get Food Stamps, Medicaid or Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) you may automatically meet the
income guideline requirements. |
