DIETETIC INTERNSHIP OPENINGS:
Application Deadline for non-WIC applicants is November 18, 2011
The San Diego WIC Dietetic Internship has openings in San Diego for the internship class starting in March 2012. You do not need to be a WIC employee to apply for these positions.
Application Instructions:
- Follow the directions in the Application Process section. You do not need to be a WIC employee
- Use the ADA Dietetic Internship Application Form and ADA Recommendation Letter form provided in the “Application Process” section. If you are not a California WIC employee, do not use the Supplement to Internship Application/WIC Employer Form.
- Apply directly to the SD WIC Dietetic Internship and not through computer match.
- Please send a copy of your completed ADA Dietetic Internship Application Form electronically or by fax to notify us of your intent to apply for the dietetic internship by November 18, 2011.
- Your complete application packet must be post marked no later than November 18, 2011. Send completed packets by CERTIFIED MAIL to the San Diego WIC Dietetic Internship.
- Applications will be reviewed and “top” rated applicants will be scheduled for an interview on December 1, 2011.
- By December 5, 2011 applicants will be notified of their status for a position as a San Diego WIC dietetic intern
The San Diego WIC Dietetic Internship accepts six interns in San Diego and two for the Northern California regional site.
California’s WIC-based internships were developed to help employees advance their careers and to meet the growing need for registered dietitians (RDs) in WIC programs. Qualified WIC employees with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) receive selection priority for WIC dietetic internships in California.
Mission Statement - The Mission of the San Diego WIC Dietetic Internship is to prepare highly competent and culturally sensitive registered dietitians to improve the health and nutrition of the community.

The San Diego WIC Dietetic Internship has received Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, Illinois 60606-6995.
