There are five WIC-based dietetic internships in California, each with its own applicant selection process. At one, you may be required to work for the WIC Agency sponsoring the program; at another, priority for selection is offered to applicants working for any California WIC program. Others participate in the ADA’s national computer matching process for selecting interns.
Graduates with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nutrition may apply for positions at WIC as a Degreed Nutritionist. This position will provide nutrition education in group and individual settings, develop nutrition care plans and provide counseling to pregnant women, infants and children under the age of five. Contact the WIC agency in your area for the most current job announcements.
